From the October, 2006 issue of Stock Car Insider
Next stop on the Nextel Cup Schedule is Texas Motor Speedway
Just when you thought the Chase was about to get interesting, Atlanta happened. Just seven days ago, the top 8 drivers were all within 100 points of the leader Matt Kenseth. Now, there are only 5 drivers within 100 points, and only two, Jimmie Johnson and Denny Hamlin, that have a strong shot at catching Matt KensethIf you liked the action in Atlanta last week, you'll love the action Texas Motor Speedway has to offer. Both tracks are similar (that's no surprise since both are owned by the same company), and both offer multiple groves through wide, high-banked turns that allow drivers to pass each other at incredibly fast speeds.
Next week expect Denny Hamlin to bolster his championship hopes at Texas Motor Speedway. In just 2 starts at Texas, the rookie has an average finish of 5th. Also expect the following drivers to do well next week:
Jimmie Johnson - Average Finish 7th
Dale Earnhardt Jr - Average Finish 11th
Casey Mears - Average Finish 11th
Martin Truex Jr - Average Finish 11th
